EXHIBITION BY EIGTH GRADE STUDENTS

On October 21st the students and staff of San Antonio School had a ''special'' day, because of the exhibition of paints and manual works by students of eight grade. Also we had breaks of 40 minutes. In these breaks the headmaster gave us drinks and food.

The exhibition was made in the church.

DON’T OPEN THE UMBRELLA!

In the English class, we have been talking about superstitions. Blas, the teacher, commented on different superstitions. Some of them were: breaking a mirror, spilling salt, seeing a black cat and opening an umbrella, the most interesting.

Then, everybody had different opinions. The teacher did not believe in them. To prove it, he opened the umbrella and WE HAVE CAPTURED THIS MOMENT IN THE PHOTOGRAPH! ...

INTERVIEW WITH GRACIELA LÓPEZ

Student: Did you cut your hair alone?

Graciela: Ohhh yes yes!! Because no body has right to touch my hair.

Student: It´s true!! How much discipline the student´s of 2º Sociales have?

Graciela: They very good, because they are responsible and do the homework.

Student: Do you like kids?

Graciela: Yes, some days they are unbearable but they are kids and one understands.

BLOOD DIAMOND

2nd Sociales saw the film ''Diamantes de Sangre'' (Blood Diamond) with the teacher Ingrid Richmond in the subject ''Comunicación y Medios''.

The movie is about the life of people who live in Africa and the exploitation and smuggling of diamonds.

In the film Leonardo Di Caprio acts.

The film is very interesting because it has scenes of violence and people die.

The movie received excellent comments of citics.

VIRGEN OF MERCEDES

On September 23rd. The schools from Merlo communicated students they wouldn't have classes the following day because the schools commemorated the Virgen of Mercedes’ day.

In fact they had classes and headmaster informed late at night to the teachers. They had to assist to school although the students wouldn't come...

SECOND NATURALES OUTING

On May 23, Second Naturales went to a excursion to Recoleta. They visited "Greenpeace" and the participative museum "Prohibido No Tocar". They went with teachers Mariana Bienco, Rodrigo Risotto, Alicia Sotomayor, Mitha Serrano and Anabella Petrucelli. The ride was fun, yet educational and the photos prove it. May it repeat!

SANTIAGO VS. FACUNDO

On August 7th in 2nd naturales. There was a fight between Santiago Fernandez and Facundo Timo for a girl. Timo started the fight and the teacher Rissoto stopped the students.

-I look after the pupils, I control if they come to school, their behaviour, their respect with the teachers and their uniforms.

-I usually get up at a quarter past six.

+Do you study?

-No, I don’t.

+What do you doing your free time?

-I watch T.V., use the computer and rest in the open air.

FILM REVIEWS

TROY

Troy is our favourite historical film; it is based on the “war of troy”. The principal character is Aquiles (Bradd Pitt). It is an action movie. We recommend it for teens and adults.

BLADE

Blade is a good film of action and science fiction. It is about a war between humans and vampires. We don’t recommend the movie for kids.

WE ARE EVERY DAY THINKING OF THE SCHOOL

The students think "We are so stressed", and they proposed some time to relax in the school to think about our lives or other things.

This is a project by now, but the students agree with this project.

This project consists in 10 min more for breaks, but we don´t present this project because the teachers wouldn´t help us.

For the moment the presentation of the project is suspended, maybe, in a future this project could be presented.

BUENOS AIRES CITY

The city of Buenos Aires is the capital of the Argentine Republic. It is the crowdest city.

It has a mild climate, and the population talk in Spanish. Also it has a few monuments like the Obelisc, the Cabildo, etc. It has an active nightlife.

SOAP!!

Surprise! We discovered a present for us!
We have soap in our bathrooms. We belive there isn`t soap since we said goodbye to Arcadio (language teacher).
We are very happy, but this is a preventive measure against the Influenza A.
Only for this we have soap!


CLASSROOM COMPARISON

2nd Sociales' clasroom isn't as big as 2nd Naturales' clasroom. In 2nd Naturales clasroom there are more windows than in 2nd Sociales clasroom, because there are more students in Naturales. The colour of the walls, floor and the door is the same.

PADUA CITY

Padua is a city situated in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is very small, and very calm too. The people of the town are friendly. It had a cinema and a night club in the past.
Now it has a few restaurants, sport clubs, and a cultural club.


WHAT IS BUENOS AIRES LIKE?

Buenos Aires downtown is Capital Federal. The language spoken there is the Spanish but because of the tourist we can listen to different lenguages, for example: English, Italian, Portuguese, etc.
The weather is mild. Temperatures range from 3ºC to 35ºC.
The more important monument is the “Obelisco.” It is the tallest in the city. Capital Federal has other monuments for national heroes.

BUENOS AIRES VS. PADUA

Buenos Aires is more crowed than Padua. Padua isn’t as noisy as Bs.As . In Bs.As there is the widest avenue In the world. And in Padua there is the longest avenue in the world.
Padua hasn’t got as many buildings as Bs.As.
Bs.As has got many restaurants, theatres, cinemas, shows, concerts, shopings, etc. And Padua hasn’t got many entertainements.
In Padua the public transports is slowler than in Bs. As. Because
Bs.As has got the subway.
Padua ins’t as touristic as Bs.As.

BREAK EXPRESS

The school's breaks are very short. When you begin to relax, the bell rings and all of the students have to go to the class.

This is terrible!!! Because we need more time to clear the mind, to buy in the kiosk and interchange words with other students.

The students said: "Time is very short!!!"

THE FIRST FIRE DRILL 2009

At the beginning of April we did an emergency drill in our school to evacuate quickly the San Antonio High School, but it could have been faster. We believe that the school should extend the emergency exit or create a new door to make it easer to evacuate. But we emphasize that the organization was very good.

A NEW FORM OF THE CLASSIC “CONVIVENCIA”: SAN ANTONIO DE PADUA AND PASO DEL REY GOT TOGETHER

The students from second year at San Antonio High School and Inmaculada Concepción High School shared a day together. The schools at the end of the day became friends. They exchanged e-mails and cell phones. They were very happy with this new form of “convivencia”, and expected to repeat it next year.

THE NEW PORCIUNCULA

The porciuncula is the chapel built with bricks brought by school students. The porciuncula is very important for the Franciscan order. The chapel is in the elementary school, it has got many picture. On the floor it has got a cross, it is very little and has got two doors and a window.

NEW NAME FOR SAN ANTONIO DE PADUA

We propose to change the name “San Antonio de Padua” for “El Santo Patrono de San Antonio de Padua de quien lleva el nombre el colegio Centro Educativo Franciscano San Antonio” because we go to this school (C.E.F.S.A.), and we feel identified with this name.

The name has 98 letters!

BUENOS AIRES, A GREAT CITY

Buenos Aires is in Argentina. The people here speak Spanish. The climate is milder than in New York. In this city the Cabildo can be found, this is favoulous. The Cabildo isn`t as big as the Government House. In Buenos Aires you can eat ‘choripan’ in the Costanera. Choripan is a typical food in Argentina.
